How To Use Ad-Aware 2008

Uninstall Adaware 2007

  1. Click Start, then go to All Programs, then to Lavasoft, then to Ad-Aware 2007 and click on Uninstall Ad-aware 2007

  2. Follow the wizard to uninstall Ad-Aware 2007

Download Adaware 2008

  1. to Download Ad-Aware 2008 Program 

  2. Or....Copy and paste the following address into your address bar:

  1. This will bring you to a site called DOWNLOAD.COM.  Click on the blue Download Now next to the Green box with White arrows.

For High Speed Internet Users:  A File Download window will appear.  Click on Run.  Follow the installation wizard instructions to install.  

For Dial Up Internet Users:  A File Download window will appear.  Click on Save and then save to your desktop.  Once downloaded, double click icon on your desktop and follow installation wizard instructions to install.

Note:  If you downloaded to your desktop, delete the icon from your desktop after installation is complete.

Install Ad-Aware 2008

  1. Click RUN

  2. Choose your language, then click OK

  3. Click Next

  4. Click the button in front of I accept the license agreement, then click Next

  5. Keep defaults and click Next

  6. Click Next

  7. Click Next

  8. Click Next

  9. Click Next

  10. Click Use Free

  11. Click Close once updates are finished

  12. Click Finish

Update Ad-Aware 2008

Note: If you use Dial Up to access the internet, please connect to your service provider before attempting to update.

  1. If not already open, Click on Start, then go to All Programs, then to Lavasoft, then to Ad-Aware  and click on Ad-Aware

  2. Click on Web Update    

  3. Click on Update  

  4. Wait for the download to finish (the progress bar will show your progress)

  5. DO NOT disconnect your internet connection until you receive the Update Complete message, then click OK

Note:  You can also click on Update in the right hand pane

Run a Full System Scan

  1. Click on Scan in the left hand pane or Scan Now in the right hand pane

  2. Check Button for “Full Scan”, then click Scan

  3. Once scan completes, go to each tab, right click and choose Select all objects, then click Remove   

  4. Click Finish

You are done!  

Do this once a week to keep your computer free of Spyware and Ad-Aware.
