How to Upgrade to AVG 8.0 AntiVirus!

Uninstall AVG 7.5

 

For Windows XP Users:

  1. Click Start and then Click Control Panel

  2. Click Add or Remove Programs

  3. Highlight AVG Free Edition and Click Change/Remove

  4. Check the boxes for Remove user settings and Including objects in the virus vault

  5. Click OK to Restart

For Vista Users: 

  1. Click Start icon

  2. Click Control Panel

  3. Click Programs and Features

  4. Click on AVG 7.5, then click Uninstall/Change

  5. Click Continue at warning screen

  6. Put a check in both boxes and click Yes

  7. Click OK to reboot

Download AVG 8.0

1.  Go to our Home Page and click on AVG button

2.  Under the Anti-Virus section, Click on the Click Here button

3.  In the new window, Click on Download Now

For High Speed Internet Users:  A File Download window will appear.  Click on Run.  

The wizard will automatically start once the download is finished.

 

For Dial Up Internet Users: Click on Save and then save to your desktop.  Once downloaded, the icon will be on your desktop.

Once finished, the file will be on your desktop.  Find it and double click it to start the installation wizard.

 

Install AVG 8.0

  1. Click Run

  2. Click Next

  3. Click Accept

  4. Click Accept

  5. Click Next

  6. Check Standard Installation and click Next

  7. Click Next

  8. Uncheck the box to install AVG Toolbar and click Next

  9. Click Finish

  10. Click OK

  11. At the first run wizard, Click Next

  12. Choose a time for the scan and Click Next

  13. Click Next

  14. Click Next

  15. Wait for Update to finish

  16. Click Next

  17. Click Next

  18. Click Finish

That's it!  You now have AVG 8.0 AntiVirus to protect against viruses.
